Add Video from Media Space to D2L Course Content

Once you’ve uploaded video to My Media in Media Space, you can share it with students in your D2L course.

Linking Versus Embedding

You can share your Media Space videos by “embedding” videos or linking to them. Our D2L/Kaltura integration provides four options:

  1. Embed the video in a new D2L Content page.
  2. Embed the video in an existing D2L page or Activity text area.
  3. Place a link in an existing page/Activity text that opens a new browser tab/window and shows the embedded video there.
  4. Place a link in an existing page/Activity text that opens a new browser tab/window to the Student’s Media Space page and plays the video there. This option is best for Media Space Playlist links, since students can then progress through the playlist.

Publish Your Video to Unlisted

The first step is always to make sure your video is published as Unlisted, not Private.

    1. Go to http://media.pdx.edu
    2. Click on PSU User.
    3. Click Login.
    4. On the PSU Single Sign-On page, enter your ODIN username and password, then confirm with Duo.
    5. In Media Space, click your name in the upper right corner, and select My Media.
    6. Find your video in the list, and click on it.
    7. Find the Actions menu in the lower right.
    8. Click the + Publish option in the list.
    9. In the publishing settings below the video, make sure that your video is set to Unlisted.
    10. Click Save.
