Take a look at the content analytics in D2L to make sure your students are engaging with the course materials.
Content analytics give you information about which D2L items have been clicked and by which students. This information can help you better understand what content is being accessed by students and give you some indication of which students are more or less engaged in the course.
Email students who haven’t logged into your course.
Approximately two weeks before the start of each term, a Google Group is created for each course in Banner. These groups are maintained for 2 terms. You can use your class group to email all students enrolled in your course.
Schedule an office hour in Google Hangouts Meet to do a live check-in with your students.
Google Hangouts Meet is the newest version of Google Hangouts. Hangouts Meet can be used at PSU for video conferencing.
Schedule an office hour in Zoom to do a live check in with your students.
Create a Google Forms Survey to gauge your students’ experience during the first few weeks of the course.
Make sure students know where they stand throughout the term by using the D2L Gradebook.
Note: Because the D2L gradebook is highly customizable and communicates especially consequential information to students, we highly encourage PSU faculty to work with the OAI Support Desk to set up a gradebook for the first time.
